K9 UNITY DOG RESCUE QLD was founded in 2017, since then we have saved over 100 giant breed dogs, rehabilitated them and re-homed them to loving homes. 

We are one of the only giant breed rescues in Australia. We rescue breeds such as Neapolitan Mastiff, Dogue De Bordeaux, Great Dane, Rottweiler, Boerboel, English Mastiff, Cane Corso, Bullmastiff, Irish Wolfhound and crosses of the above. These breeds are quite often mislead by the media resulting in them being overlooked in pounds and shelters. Sadly these dogs usually get destroyed unless a rescue steps forward to save them. This is where we come in. We focus on saving dogs from the most rural pounds throughout Australia as some rural pounds still shoot dogs that are homeless. They usually have between 24-48 hours to find homes or rescue before they are destroyed. We then transport them to us on the Gold Coast so they get more exposure.

We are a foster based rescue, this means ALL of the dogs we save go into foster homes to have any rehabilitation and vet work that is required completed. We do not have a kennel set up so we rely on foster carers. We provide everything your foster dog requires whilst in care. 

Once our dogs have had their vet work completed and have recovered we post the dog on one of our 3 social media platforms for adoption. We then host meet and greets with potential adopters and their current pets, we require potential adopters to have a house check and ID checks completed. Once all of these steps have been completed you’ll be required to complete an adoption form and pay the adoption fee. 

We also accept and appreciate any donations that come in. We spend upwards of $600 on every dog that comes in, the most we have spent so far is $8,000 on a Great Dane that has two torn/ruptured ACLS. 

Some of our dogs come in emaciated, abused, neglected and so on. Some come in almost perfect. We work extremely hard to get these dogs ready for adoption.
